Soccer fouls can be any number of unfair advantages taken by a player that are called by the referee. It is the referee’s responsibility to monitor safe play and fouls. You cannot kick, trip, jump at, strike, push, or hold an opponent. Unsportsmanlike behavior may result in a yellow card or a red card. Players that get red cards are ejected from the game. Other rules are as follows.

1.            ONLY paid and registered players will be allowed to play and are guaranteed some playing time in the PPSL

2.            The games will be 2 halves of 25mins consisting of 10 Players and a Goalie with 5mins break at half-time.

•              Players and Officials are expected to arrive the Field of play at least 10-15mins before Kick-off time.

3.            Games will be played in a home and away style with one (1) game per week for each team then playoffs to determine the League Champions.

•              The team with the most points at the end of the regular season will be considered League Leaders.

•              If any Teams finish with the same number of points, their position in the PPSL table is determined by goal difference, then the number of goals scored, then the team who collected the most points in the head-to-head matches, then who scored most away goals in the head-to-head.

4.            Players must be fully kitted (Mandatory) with (Shirt/Jersey, Shorts/Joggers, Socks, Shin guard and Soccer boots) and NO Jewelry prior to kick-off.

5.            ONLY fully kitted players are allowed on the pitch at time of kick-off. The referee will send off any player not fully kitted.

6.            Kick-off will STILL commence even if either Teams are not complete at time of kick-off, a minimum of 7 players and a goalie fully kitted is required. In the event any team has less than the required minimum of 7 players, the referee will consult with the oversee personnel before declaring a walk over.

7.            Subbing will be done from the sideline at the halfway line, the player being subbed can leave from the nearest sideline or corner line.

8.            A player that receives two (2) Yellow Cards in one game will be issued a Red Card and a sending off resulting in a 1-match suspension.

9.            Three (3) accumulated Yellow Cards over the course of the league season will result in a 1-match suspension.

10.         A sending off due to a straight Red Card will result in a 2-match suspension.

11.         Slide tackles with 2 legs lunged at an opponent endangering a player are sanctioned as serious foul play resulting in a Red Card and a sending off (which carries a 2-match suspension). This is still the case even if the ball is won cleanly without touching an opponent.

12.         Any unsportsmanlike behaviour including but not limited to fighting, using abusive words, psychological abuse and offensive languages towards the officials and/or fellow teammates on/off the pitch or reported with evidence as the case may be. Such player(s) will be issued a red card, suspended for 2-3 games, and may face further disciplinary actions by the Planning Committee. Further actions may include prohibition from participating in the PPSL for the rest of the season.

13.         Under no circumstances should a registered player play on another team without the Committee’s permission else will face disciplinary actions.

14.         Please do not urinate on the pitch or close to the vicinity of the field of play.

15.         Please Stay home if you are feeling unwell or running a temperature.

16.         No Smoking in or around the field

17.         The Teams who play in the last game of the day are responsible to gather the cones/flags, pack up equipment’s and give it to the officiating officials/oversee personnel in charge that day!

 

NOTE!

  • If assigned goalies are unavailable, goalies can play for another team. However, the Planning Committee should be informed ahead of time in this case to assist with this.
  • Teams are not allowed to add non-registered or registered players, ONLY the planning committee can add players to a team.
  • All complains and grievance during play by the players must be addressed through their captain politely to the referee and officiating officials.
  • Players and/or teams who have a complaint, or are unsatisfied with the conduct of the referee and/or match officials should write a formal letter to the Planning Committee within 48hrs of the match day by email to [email protected]
