The PP Soccer League (PPSL) has confirmed that all Round 3 matches, originally scheduled for Saturday, May 31 but postponed due to hazardous air quality, have been rescheduled to Saturday, June 7 at their originally scheduled times.

The initial postponement was made in response to deteriorating air conditions caused by wildfires burning in northern Saskatchewan. Health authorities reported that the Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) in Regina had reached the “10+” level, which is classified as very high risk. This level of air quality poses potential health concerns, especially for individuals with respiratory conditions or sensitivities.

“Folks… Due to the air quality forecast for tomorrow, we will have to cancel all PPSL games unfortunately,” the league said in a message to team captains. “A poor air quality index may affect some groups of people leading to breathing problems or throat irritation. Therefore, to keep ourselves safe, it is best for us to cancel the games for tomorrow.”

Team captains were notified immediately, and the PPSL has expressed its appreciation for the understanding and cooperation shown by players, coaches, and fans.

With improving conditions, the league has now confirmed that all affected matches will go ahead on June 7 without changes to kick-off times or locations. Team captains are asked to ensure their squads are informed and prepared.

The PPSL remains committed to player safety and thanks all teams for their flexibility and support as the season continues.
