Round 3 Matches Postponed Due to Wildfire Smoke and Air Quality Concerns

The PP Soccer League (PPSL) has announced the cancellation of all scheduled matches for Saturday, May 31, due to hazardous air quality levels across Saskatchewan resulting from the ongoing wildfires burning in the northern parts of the province.

League officials made the difficult but necessary decision after reviewing public health updates and forecasts predicting very poor air quality across the region. The Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) in Regina has reached the "10+" level, which is considered very high risk and poses potential health concerns, particularly for individuals with respiratory conditions or other sensitivities.

“Folks… Due to the air quality forecast for tomorrow, we will have to cancel all PPSL games unfortunately,” the league stated in an official message to team captains. “A poor air quality index may affect some groups of people leading to breathing problems or throat irritation. Therefore, to keep ourselves safe, it is best for us to cancel the games for tomorrow.”

All team captains have been asked to notify their respective players and groups, and the league thanks everyone for their understanding and cooperation.
